31 January 2009The Feelgood Factor!!ITV announces The Feelgood Factor, the chance to start a healthier New Year
ITV today launches a new nationwide initiative, whereby the public at home are invited, via www.itv.com/feelgoodfactor ,to join some of ITV's biggest stars to shape up and make 2009 an altogether healthier year.
The Feelgood Factor begins in January and will include three ITV1 shows as well as the www.itv.com site and wants viewers to make some positive changes for a healthier lifestyle for themselves and their families.
The Feelgood Factor links in with the Government’s Change4Life campaign - a lifestyle revolution involving thousands of local organisations and charities which will help the nation eat well, move more and live longer.
Hosted by Eamonn Holmes and Myleene Klass, The Feelgood Factor aims to inspire viewers to make simple changes to their lifestyle. Encouraged by some of ITV’s biggest names including stars from Coronation Street who will be cooking up a healthy hotpot in the Rovers Return and a meaner leaner fry up in Roy’s Rolls with the helping hand of Brian Turner. Not to be outdone, stars from Emmerdale prove that running can be fun as they train a pub darts team to attempt a half marathon.
As well as the nation’s favourite celebrities taking part in healthy challenges, The Feelgood Factor will also launch a “Pound for Pound” plan, where viewers can sign up to lose weight and at the same time raise money for charity. It’s simple - for every pound in weight a viewer pledges to lose, their friends and family can each pledge a pound in cash or more for their chosen charity. The more the viewers lose, the more is raised for good causes. All details of how to sign up for “Pound for Pound” is now available on www.itv.com/feelgoodfactor
Leading this “Pound for Pound” initiative is Eamonn Holmes, who is pledging to lose weight in a bid to lead a healthier lifestyle. Spurred on by his friends and family, Eamonn has signed up to the “Pound for Pound” plan and viewers can chart his progress on www.itv.com/feelgoodfactor .
With catch up shows planned for February and March, viewers will be able to see how the famous faces have got on with their new regimes as well as having a time frame to work within themselves.
